We're off to the Olympics!!!

My first blog, and what a way to start!

It's been a bit of a struggle, but today we learnt AEphotos has received media accreditation for the 2012 London Olympics. We will be covering both slalom and sprint canoeing events. Many thanks to the BCU/GB Canoeing team for helping to make this possible.

But from my perspective this is only half the story. In the last few years we have seen the emergence of GB as a major player in the canoeing scene, something that a few years ago would have been laughable to suggest. And among that team is my own daughter (Abi) who has played her part in the transformation of team GB, leading the team to 4th in the World and securing Olympic qualification during the 2011 World Championships (See pic).

There is a long way to go but come August I'm looking forward to seeing my view finder filled with the delighted faces of 4 GB women paddling to glory in the greatest sporting event in the world. What a prospect!!
